Psychologist - Zahra

Zahra Jessa, MC, B. Ed

Registered Psychologist in Calgary

Zahra has a Master of Counselling Degree in Counselling Psychology and is Registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She owns and operates Jessa-Greig Psychological Services Inc. with Aaron Greig. She has been working with individuals experiencing substance use issues, anger and mental health concerns, acculturation difficulties, and trauma-related concerns for more than 12 years. 

Zahra has extensive experience in domestic violence, anger management, crisis management, and addiction counselling. Zahra has helped families navigate the Child Protection system, and is an accredited Triple P practitioner with levels 4 and 5 in this evidence-based positive parenting program.

 

Prior to becoming a psychologist, Zahra was a secondary teacher in the Calgary area and internationally, in Mexico, Egypt, and Indonesia. Because of this and her work with immigrant and refugee populations, Zahra has an in-depth understanding of various cultures. She uses cultural competency in her therapeutic work with clients.

 

She is considered highly approachable and empathic by the people she works with and supervises. She is an LGBTQ2+ ally and advocate of kindness and compassionate treatment for all. Clients appreciate the tools and skills they receive from Zahra as well as the insights they develop into their issues.

Aaron Greig, MC

Registered Psychologist in Calgary

Aaron has a Master of Counselling Degree in Counselling Psychology and is a Registered Psychologist in Alberta.  He has been working in the helping field for more than 20 years and his clinical practice includes counselling adults, teenagers, and families with mental health, behavioural, addiction, and trauma issues. Much of his work has focused on supporting at-risk youth and adults experiencing or engaging in intimate partner violence.

 

Aaron values a gentle, compassionate, patient, and forgiving approach, and he believes that this is the true core of trauma-informed care. He has developed a reputation for being able to discuss difficult topics and emphasize the importance of personal accountability. He does this in a manner that is clear and direct every time, leaving his clients feeling empowered and supported.

Psychologist - Aaron

Aaron is an LGBTQ+ ally. He is deeply respectful of personal, cultural, and religious orientations. He can incorporate in-home, real-time coaching and family facilitation regarding the application of parenting strategies explored in counselling sessions.
